EditThe von Trapp Family: A Life of Music (2015)

Being an adaption of the book “Agathe von Trapp: Memories Before and After The Sound of Music”, this film reveals the life and struggles of the eldest daughter of the well-known musical family to move to the USA and pursue a musical career. Shown from Agathe’s perspective, this is also a tribute not only to her eminent relatives but also to her membership of the “Trapp Family Singers”. The little girl started learning how to play a guitar at age 9 from her father Georg von Trapp, wonderfully portrayed by Matthew Macfadyen. After the World War I, the von Trapps settled near Salzburg in Austria. Agathe remembers that the nature there was so beautiful and their house – so elegant, that it was like living in a fairy tale.
