Expeditions with tragic endings always challenge the minds of authorities and experts. Following the need of people to receive clear answers, this documentary is a journey itself. Max Kestner has created a film in which we witness the efforts of detective Steffen Holberg to reveal the truth about the mythical Denmark Expedition to Greenland which took place in 1906-1908. Mysterious circumstances led to the tragic deaths of Ludvig Mylius-Erichsen, Niels Peter Høeg Hagen and Jørgen Brønlund but there are two missing bodies. With the help of national archive, modern technologies and old-fashioned techniques, Holberg skillfully balanced between reality and fiction, between fact and theories. At the end, we continue to wonder what is the meaning of human life.
