After losing his leg in a mission, FBI Hostage Rescue Team Leader Will Sawyer (Dwayne Johnson), switches jobs and starts doing security assessments for skyscrapers. Located in Hong Kong, “The Pearl” is the tallest and most luxury building in the world. It is also an assignment for the war veteran. According to Sawyer’s report, however, “The Pearl”, that may be a symbol of beauty and elegance, is also a potentially dangerous place. His bosses are too confident in its impenetrability, but after a terrorists’ attack, they all become part of a disastrous situation. The real nightmare for Sawyer is not whether he would lose his life but if he would be able to save his wife and children who are trapped in “The Pearl”.
