EditDolor y gloria (2019)

Three years of his previous brilliant work, “Julieta”, the internationally recognised Spanish filmmaker Pedro Almodóvar gives us another story to enjoy. Again, the cast includes his favourite actors Antonio Banderas and Penélope Cruz. The film follows Salvador Mallo, a film director who has lost his inspiration and desire to work. A series of physical and imaginative encounters make Mallo question the choices he has made in the past, since his childhood to his adultery life. Choices, which consequences the man feels intensively at the probable sunset of his career, of his life. Memories haunt the director, creating a sense of guilt, caused by the way he treated certain people in the past - his mother, his friend, his lover. Will Mallo find the way out of this emotionally overwhelming labyrinth or is the path to happiness lost forever for him?
