When a small alien creature crashes into the Mojave Desert in 1999, it sets off a chain reaction that, many years later, changes the lives of a boy and his dog forever. Danny grows up with his faithful dog Charlie, but as Charlie grows old and frail, it seems their adventure is over – until Charlie and the neighbor's cat are abducted by aliens one night. When he returns, he is young again, can talk – and has gained superpowers. Soon he becomes the world's first super dog, rescuing people in need and winning everyone's hearts. But his fame arouses the envy of the power-hungry neighbor cat, who, like Charlie, has gained special abilities after his visit to space and who plans to make all cats superior and force humanity to submit to them.
