Popular in the folklore of Latin America, La Llorona is the Weeping Woman, a sorrowful female ghost who has lost her own children. Being always in the hell of anguish, La Llorona is a curse for any child that is misfortunate enough to appear near her. On her way, this woman takes lost children, making them her own. Although this may sound like an ancient fairytale, a modern woman, living in Los Angeles, will soon realise that evil can be found not only in books but too often in real life. Anna Garcia is that woman, a widow, struggling to raise two children in the 1970s. Being a social worker, Anna needs to investigate a particular case which strikes her with the terrifying similarities found in her own family. A priest is ready to help the desperate widow but could he save the two children from the curse of La Llorona?
