“The only thing that really matters is what we think of ourselves!”. These wise words belong to Martha (Diane Keaton), a woman who moves to the “Sun Springs” retirement community. Refusing to be defeated by ageing, she decides to create a cheerleading squad. For this challenging task, Martha needs support and she finds it in the face of her fellow residents Sheryl (Jacki Weaver), Olive (Pam Grier), and Alice (Rhea Perlman). The old girls find inner strength to overcome their fear of being mocked by younger people and refuse to be limited by their physical conditions. Our cheerleaders even manage to find a mentor who to teach them how to perform. “Poms” is one of those uplifting comedies that remind us that it is never too late to follow your dreams and have fun!
