In the Japanese city of Takasaki there lives a young ramen chef called Masato. After his father’s death, Masato feels the need to learn more about the past of his parents. Having lost his Singaporean mother when he was just 10, the young man doesn’t know much about his relatives. That is why he embarks to Singapore - to follow the old photos and the red notebook, left by his beloved mother. In the Garden City, the young chef meets the beautiful Miki, a food blogger and single mother. Unexpectedly, Miki becomes a bridge to Masato and his uncle Ah Wee, a restaurant owner. This is how our boy finds out that he has a grandmother that is still alive. The reunion of Masato with his grandmother is healing for both of them. The old woman knows many family secrets, including the love story of his mother and father.
