Guy Ritchie is back! The director of "RocknRolla" and the Sherlock Holmes films now gives us a British-American crime comedy that follows the London based American expat Mickey Pearson (Matthew McConaughey). As the head of a highly profitable marijuana enterprise, it all goes fantastic for Mickey until he decides to cash out, looking to enjoy an early retirement. Running his ‘green’ empire has taught Mickey to expect anything from anybody. However, little he is prepared to deal with the insidious plots, insolent blackmail and bribery, triggered by his decision to sell the marijuana business to a dynasty of Oklahoma billionaires. While some try to steal his possessions and question his dominion, Mickey shows everybody why exactly has he earned the title ‘drug lord’.
" Guy Ritchie both knows how to make the audience laugh and how to offend them. His movies ‘Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels’ and ‘Snatch’ were great examples of this. Now he is back with a new action comedy filled with big actors. ‘The Gentlemen’ revolve around drug king Mickey Pearson, who sees the legalization of Marihuana as the end of his empire and therefor decides he wants to get rid of it, which releases a chain reaction of gangster revenge and demonstrations of power. Among the cast we find Matthew McConaughey as the drug king Mickey, Colin Farrell as an Irish boxing coach and Hugh Grant as an unscrupulous private detective. The movie will premiere in Danish Cinema on the 27th of February. "
