“Yes, I will bring honour to us all!” this promise is made by the young maiden Mulan to her loved ones. The brave Chinese girl disguises herself as a man and joins the army to save her father, an honourable, but already old and weak warrior. Being the elder daughter in a house with no sons, she is forced to do that and live in a lie because of a decree, issued by the Emperor of China (Jet Li). The decree states that since the country is threatened by Northern invaders, every family is obliged to give one man to serve in the Imperial Army. Being treated as all other soldiers, Mulan goes through a major transformation that makes her strong, skilful and fearless. In this journey of a lifetime, the young woman turns into a respected warrior, capable of defending her country from intruders and making her father proud of her.

" Disney’s latest live.action movie ‘Mulan’ should have premiered in Danish cinemas last month, but unfortunately cinemas were closed. " In 2019 we got Disney’s ‘Lion King’, Dumbo’ and ‘Aladdin’ in new great live action version, but what will 2020 bring? The short answer – Mulan! While most of Disney’s former live action movies have leaned heavily on the originals, the new ‘Mulan’ seems rougher. This is due to some decisions that Disney has made. First of all, the new ‘Mulan’ won’t be a musical. The music from the original movie will only be used in instrumental form. Secondly, everyone’s favorite dragon Mushu won’t be part of the movie. You can ask yourself whether the movie will be recognizable at all with all the changes that have been made, but it might be a wise choice from Disney to create something new instead of just replicating something they’ve already made. What do you think? ‘Mulan’ will premiere in Danish cinema on the 26th of March. "
" In 2020 ‘Mulan’ becomes part of the group of Disney movies which have been adapted to live action version. Recently Disney has made new versions of both ‘Dumbo’, ‘Aladdin’ and ‘The Lion King’ and now the time has come for ‘Mulan’. The new trailer hints a more serious action drama and there are rumors that the music from the original film will only be present in instrumental versions, and that the new movie therefore won’t be a musical. Furthermore, it looks like the beloved dragon Muchu won’t make an appearance in the new film, just like Mulans trainer and flirt Li Chang has been replaced and won’t be part of the movie either. ‘Mulan’ will premiere in Danish cinemas on the 26th of March.
