If you think that what writers only do is to sit in some smoky rooms trying desperately to put one word after another, think again. The story begins in a small town near Marseille, where a writing workshop with seven participants is taking place. Guided by the eminent novelist Olivia Dejazet (starring Marina Foïs), the young people receive an assignment to write a dark story about their hometown’s past. With each writing session, Antoine, one of the boys, a confident provocateur, attracts Olivia’s attention more and more. His piece of writing is about a mass murder that is described too accurately, with too much pleasure of the violence done, as if… Olivia is simultaneously fascinated and frightened of what the truth about Antoine could reveal.
