Social injustice has many faces and one of them is discrimination based on gender. “On the Basis of Sex” tells the inspiring true story of Ruth Bader Ginsburg who became the second female, appointed a U.S. Supreme Court Associate Justice after Sandra Day O’Connor. Set in New York in the 1960s, the film shows Ginsburg’s strenuous struggles for equal rights, following the early cases of her exceptional career. While thousands of women were protesting on the streets against gender based inequality, the brave lawyer believes that most important is to change the system from within, making it the mission of her life. “On the Basis of Sex” is created in honour of Justice Ginsburg's 25th anniversary on the Supreme Court.
