Ronit Krushka (Rachel Weisz) left North London years ago because her strict orthodox Jewish community casted her out for falling in love with the wrong person. Although she has been estranged from her relatives, Ronit ought to attend her father’s funeral. Going back to London from New York awakens forgotten memories and revives old feelings not only for the young woman but also for those around her. Esti (Rachel McAdams) is married to Dovid Kuperman (Alessandro Nivo). After Ronit’s return in the comunity, Esti experiences existential crisis, remembering where her heart truly belongs. This drama film is based on the novel of the same name from 2006, written by Naomi Alderman.
