Inna de Yard

“In the Yard”, that’s what “Inna de Yard” means in Jamaican patois. It features the legendary reggae musician Winston McAnuff, Ken Boothe, Cedric Myton, and Kiddus I, who breathe new life into the music culture of exotic Jamaica. They take the essence of reggae and convey it to the younger people, teaching them to respect a somewhat forgotten music and the spirit it brings. Imagine a house with a big terrace, situated on a hill in Kingston. As the story goes, we hear an intriguing mixture of guitar chords here, tender piano sounds there, then the brass section comes in, and what is a reggae without percussion? Having taken part of the Reggae’s Golden Age, together with Bob Marley, Jimmy Cliff and Peter Tosh, “Inna de Yard” create music that is close to people, just like your good friend, playing the guitar on the terrace during a gathering.
